An odd serial killer. Right.
Thatâs whatâs going through her mind right now? Not the fact that I unknowingly called myself her daddy without thinking, or the implications of what that might mean.
No. She decides to tell me Iâm an odd serial killer. Iâm so fucking confused.
âUh, technically, Iâm not a serial killer. More like a hired assassin,â I point out before groaning and dropping my head into my hands like an idiot.
âLogically speaking, if you were in court defending yourself, wouldnât they still see you as a serial killer?â she says. âI mean, I guess it depends on how many people youâve killed, but Iâm not sure I want to know the answer to that question,â she rambles, barely taking a breath. âI suppose logistically, if you were a true serial killer, Iâd have read about you by now, so you probably switch up the ways you kill.â
As adorable as her rambling is, I need to stop her. Weâve gotten way off topic here. âLiv, baby, focus,â I say, waiting for her to stop talking and look at me.
âHuh?â
âGood girl,â I praise her, and she blushes. âYouâre adorable, but we need to focus on the important things right now, remember?â I ask her and wait for her to nod.
âShelbs, or your whole Daddy slip up?â she teases.
âThatâs one way to put it,â I mutter, and she laughs her ass off at me.
God, sheâs so fucking cute like this. I want her to be like this all the time. Happy. Or screaming my name as I fuck her into oblivion. I bet she tastes fucking incredible, too.
I lick my lips at the thought. âShelby,â I state, and she sobers up. I fucking hate that. âYou need to call her and tell her something convincing, so she stays away from your house.â
She nods in understanding. âOkay, yeah, I can do that.â
She fiddles with the phone before hitting dial and putting it on speakerphone.
âAre you okay?â I whisper, and she smiles a little at me before nodding as the she-thing picks up the phone.
âOlivia fucking Breton, you better tell me where the fuck you disappeared to on me!â she screams into the phone, and I narrow my eyes at the tone sheâs using with my woman.
Oliviaâs eyes widen, and she shakes her head at me. I assume to sway me from killing the she-thing. Little does she know Iâve already chosen to let her live because she means so much to her.
Not that I will ever be okay with my woman being spoken to like that, but Iâll let it slide for now. Eventually Shelby and I are going to have a discussion about her tone. If Liv allows that to happen. I get the feeling sheâll probably never leave us alone together.
âShelbs, Iâm fine. I was sleeping off the six bottles of wine we drank,â she says, chuckling like her friend is being dramatic.
Iâd agree if I hadnât technically kidnapped Olivia while they were in the same house. Not to mention Shelby waking up at her own home this morning.
